The Party and State always create best conditions for intellectuals to promote their creativity so that science and technology would be the driving force for the country’s development and national defense, affirmed PM Nguyen Tan Dung.
The Government chief made the affirmation during his meeting with members of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Association (VUSTA) on April 15.
VUSTA President Dang Vu Minh reported that his organization has engaged in various activities like consultancy, scientific and technological R&D, environmental protection, education and training, knowledge dissemination, both inside and outside of the country.
Scientists also gave comments on the government’s measures to enhance the role and efficiency of the intellectual organizations and institutionalization, he added.
Over the past 30 years since its establishment, the VUSTA has made tremendous advancements, with over 125 sub-associations and more than 800,000 members, PM Dung highlighted.
He particularly hailed the VUSTA’s consultant and commenting role in the process of forming the Party and State’s policies.
The Government will create more favorable conditions for the VUSTA to contribute their knowledge to the Government solutions as well as its goal programs, PM Dung pledged.
