The only way to Thach Ngan Commune

Hoang Dinh Tuan, Chairman of the District People’s Committee, said that the only access to the five isolated communes of Mon Son, Binh Chuan, Mau Duc, Thach Ngan and Don Phuc is by hours of walking.

The entire district has 13 communes, 11 of which have experienced flooding. Initial estimates of losses in the area are VND20 billion (USD961,538 million).

Flood waters submerged nearly 40 homes and damaged several bridges and roads, as well as hundreds of hectares of rice fields. The worst damage occurred around the communes of Mau Duc and Thach Ngan.
