DTiNews has worked with the Vietnam Study Promotion Fund and Thanh Hoa Province’s Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs to grant scholarships for local students.

The scholarships were funded by the Returning to Truong Son Cycle Race which was held in July this year. Cyclists from 12 local and two foreign teams travelled nearly 750km from Hanoi to Quang Tri Province in the central region.

Poor students in Thanh Hoa granted with the scholarships.

On October 11, the scholarships worth VND2 million (USD90.9) each were presented to 20 poor students of six districts in Thanh Hoa Province where the cyclists went through during the tournament. The students whose parents are invalids or are from families with revolutionary contributions have good academic results.

The race organisers also granted three charitable houses for the most disadvantaged families in Thanh Hoa Province. Each house costs VND70 million (USD3,180).

Le Thi Minh Huong from Tho Xuan Thanh Hoa, who is a student of Hanoi Medical University, said that she was delighted to receive the scholarship.
