Domestic flights to be increased from December

The Ministry of Transport has decided to raise the frequency of domestic flight routes from December 1.

According to the ministry, in the first half of December, airlines are allowed to operate 16 return flights on the Hanoi-Danang, Hanoi-HCM City and Danang-HCM City routes per day up from a current six.

From the second half of December, the flight frequency on Hanoi-Danang, Hanoi-HCM City and Danang-HCM City routes will be raised to 20.

Meanwhile, the maxim frequency of return flights for other domestic flights from December will be nine per day compared to four at present.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has been asked to adjust the domestic flights based on the pandemic situation to meet the rising travel demand of people on the coming Tet Holiday.

Passengers only need to fulfil one of the three following requirements to be eligible to fly: having been fully vaccinated for over 14 days, recovered from Covid-19 within the past six months, or tested negative within 72 hours before departure.
