The children surveyed said they would like to help people, especially the poor and the elderly.

Another popular preference for jobs among children was to be president. When asked, most said that their first priority would be to keep Vietnam from any further wars, protect citizens and prevent crime. They also showed interest in helping the disadvantaged.

Teachers, police, singers and entrepreneurs were also high on the list of career choices.

Responding to the question, “Which is more important, making money or spending time with your family?”, 81% of the interviewees chose their family. However most of those who chose earning money as a priority said that it was to help their families.

Nicola Connolly, General Director of Adecco Vietnam, commented, “This shows the family values endemic in Vietnamese children."

Adecco Vietnam is a subsidiary of Adecco Group which is among the world’s leading human resource service firms.
