Authorities in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong's Da Lat City have vowed to take drastic action against dog photography services following public concerns over pet mistreatment.

The case raised public outrage that urged the dog photography service to be tackled.

According to Tran Thi Vu Loan, vice chairwoman of the municipal people's committee, the local police are investigating the case.

The authorities will strictly punish individuals engaging in pet mistreatment or letting dogs roam freely without muzzles. In the coming time, the city will tighten patrol activities to detect violations and end the dog photography business.

Ton Thanh Thanh Vu, chairman of Ward 10, said that the dog photography service at Lam Vien Square was unlicensed. Most dog owners are from other localities.

Concerned agencies have co-operated to catch stray dogs and cats around Lam Vien Square, Xuan Huong Lake, and the Da Lat Night Market. The results are reported periodically to the city people's committee before the 15th day of every month.
