The city’s Department of Tourism issued an urgent directive on April 20, asking tour operators to cease arranging stays or services at Romance Hotel Hue.
Earlier, on April 15, local civil judgment enforcement authorities announced a revised timeline for enforcing the handover of the hotel to a successful auction buyer.

From April 21, authorities will implement enforcement measures involving relevant parties, including any remaining guests at the property.
To ensure compliance with legal regulations, the tourism department has asked travel companies to proactively relocate their clients from the hotel as soon as possible.
Officials warned that if tour managed guests remain at the site during enforcement, companies could face scrutiny for potentially obstructing official duties, failing to ensure visitor safety, and negatively impacting the local tourism environment.
The hotel is a four star property located near the Huong River in a prime area of the city.
In April 2024, local authorities auctioned the land use rights and assets of the hotel with a starting price of more than VND 127 billion (approximately USD 5.1 million), excluding taxes and fees.
According to auction documents, the property, owned by Doanh Ngan Company, was originally designed as a 10 storey building with a basement and mezzanine, completed in 2010.
However, inspections later found the structure had 12 floors, a basement and an additional rooftop level, with parts of the building encroaching on public pathways, drainage systems and adjacent state managed land.
