According to the National Hospital of Paediatrics, the hospital has seen a 10-15% rise in patients suffering from respiratory problems such as pharyngitis, sinusitis and pneumonia.

A three-year-old child from Thai Binh Province’s Vu Thu District was sent to the hospital as one of his eyes couldn’t close fully, while his mouth was distorted.
Dr. Hoang Thi Tuyen from the National Hospital of Acupuncture said that children need to be kept warm enough and avoid taking baths late at night in cold weather.
Meanwhile, the number of elderly people hospitalised due to heart diseases has risen.
E Hospital in Hanoi has received more old people struggling with heart problems these days.
The Ministry of Health has instructed hospitals to ensure they are sufficiently prepared for medical issues associated with cold weather. Hospitals need to set up waiting zones which are warm enough for patients and their relatives.
Some hospitals in Hanoi, including K and Viet Duc have improved heating in their premises.
