Many people have visited Yen So Market in So Thuong Village, Hoang Mai District to trade and to select the most good-looking and healthy carp for Kitchen Gods' Day. The carp is being sold at VND150,000 to VND180,000 per kilo at Yen So Market. The fish will later be sold at VND20,000 to VND30,000 per fish at retail markets.
Red carp is the favourite, however, because of Covid-19, the number of visitors to the market has dropped significantly compared to the previous years. Dozens of trucks bringing fish to Hanoi from Phu Tho, Nam Dinh, and Vinh Phuc provinces gathered at the market. According to the traders, the peak will be on February 3rd and February 4th or the 22nd and 23rd of lunar December.
