The vessel Truong Sa MT.01 owed by Tran Minh Tuan in Danang City’s Hai Chau District cost VND31.05 billion (USD14 million). VND29.5 billion was loaned thanks to the government policy to provide subsidised interest rates via VietcomBank.

The ship is 41 metres long, 8.2 metres wide and 3.6 metres high. It has a 350-tonne dead load and has a speed of 12.5 nautical miles per hour.
The owner Tran Minh Tuan said that the vessel will mainly operate in the area of the Spratly Islands. It will specialise in collecting and preserving fish.
The ship also provides vital items such as water, oil and ice for fishing boats operating in the Paracel and Spratly islands.
