The Lam Dong People’s Council on March 30 passed a resolution assigning Khanh Hoa Province as the lead authority to implement the project and outlining the division of sub-projects.
The project is estimated to cost around VND 25 trillion (about USD 950 million) and will be developed under a public-private partnership model.

The 80.8-km route will run from Dien Tho Commune in Khanh Hoa Province to the Darahoa junction in Dalat City, with four lanes, a roadbed width of 22-24.75 metres and a design speed of 80-100 kph.
Once completed, the expressway is expected to cut travel time to about 1.5-2 hours from the current 3.5-4 hours via National Highway 27C over Khanh Le Pass, a route prone to landslides during the rainy season.
The Ministry of Construction has urged both provinces to finalise preparations to break ground on May 19, 2026.
