Man killed after sitting on railway tracks in Khanh Hoa

Police in Khanh Hoa Province are investigating after a man sitting on railway tracks was struck and killed by a northbound train early on April 1.

The information was confirmed by a leader of the Cam An Commune People's Committee in Khanh Hoa Province on the morning of April 1.

Initial reports indicate that at about 5 am the same day, in the Suoi Cat-Cam An section in Cam An Commune, an unidentified man wearing a hat and carrying a backpack was sitting on the railway tracks.

At that time, train SNT2 was travelling northbound. The level crossing barrier was down and warning lights were flashing continuously, but the man did not comply with traffic safety instructions.

Train SNT2 then struck the man, killing him instantly.

Immediately after the incident, train SNT2 stopped to assist with management of the scene. Khanh Hoa Police Department are coordinating with relevant agencies to identify the victim.
