According to the ministry's report, 13,306 of the new patients are locally-transmitted cases confirmed in 35 localities such as HCM City (7,539), Binh Duong (3,563), Dong Nai (823), Long An (321), Tay Ninh (248), Tien Giang (156), and Kien Giang (86). There were 15 imported patients confirmed today.


The infection number showed an increase of 907 infections compared to yesterday's figure. There were 8,680 infections found in the community.

As of Friday evening, 589,417 infections have been reported since the new outbreak occurred in the country in late April, with some southern localities recording high infections such as HCM City (286,242), Binh Duong (149,859), Dong Nai (32,882), Long An (27,537), and Tien Giang (11,430). The outbreak has so far spread to 62 out of 63 cities and provinces nationwide.

On September 10, an additional 12,751 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to 350,921.

On Friday evening, a further 275 deaths related to Covid-19 were announced, bringing the total number of fatalities in Vietnam to 14,745. The deaths were reported in some localities including HCM City (195), Binh Duong (55), Tien Giang (3), Danang (3), Dong Nai (3), Dong Thap (2), Binh Thuan (5), An Giang (1), Kien Giang (1), Can Tho (1), Ba Ria - Vung Tau (1), Khanh Hoa (1), and Nghe An (4).

The country has so far conducted over 25.92 million Covid-19 vaccine shots, with over 4.46 million people having received two doses.
