The National Committee for Search and Rescue on June 18 said that they had received calls for support from the fishermen at 11am the same day.

The committee has asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to contact with Chinese authorities to create favourable conditions for Vietnamese fishermen to work in the East Sea and Paracel Islands area.

Vietnamese naval rescue forces have been informed to keep close contact with the fishermen to provide support.
