Ho Chi Minh City authorities organised a group wedding for 100 couples on National Day.
100 couples were married on National Day
The city authorities prioritised people on low incomes, had experienced work accidents or severe illnesses. The couples visited the Ho Chi Minh statue outside the People’s Committee Building then joined the parade through the city before the official ceremony was held at Melisa Centre.
Each couple were given rings, wedding cake and flowers as well as their suits, make-up and wedding dresses. The organisers also offered to give them health and family planning consultancy. The couple with most disadvantaged background was given a new apartment.

Duong Ngoc Tuan, director of the HCM City Youth and Worker Support Centre, said through the oraganisation they wanted to promote weddings and cost-saving lifestyle among working people.
The mass wedding event has been held in HCM City since 2007 for over 500 couples.
