HCM City will hold firework displays to mark 49 years of the South’s Liberation and National Reunification Day on April 30.

HCM City will hold firework displays to mark 49 years of the South’s Liberation and National Reunification Day on April 30.

The firework displays will take place at 16 locations from 9 to 9.15 pm on April 30.

Among the locations, 10 will be along Saigon River at Van Phuc Urban Area, Thanh Da Park, Rach Chiec Bridge, Thao Dien area, Landmark 81 Park, Ba Son and Bach Dang Wharf, Saigon River tunnel area, Tan Thuan Bridge and Thanh My Loi Ward’s riverside area.

Six other locations will be in Dam Sen Cultural Park in District 11, Rung Sac Square in Can Gio District, Tay Bac Industrial Park in Cu Chi District, the revolutionary tradition site of the 1968 Tet Offensive and Uprising in Binh Chanh District and the administrative centre of District 7.

The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs has proposed a consecutive five-day Reunification Day and Labour Day holiday.

The upcoming Reunification Day and Labour Day holiday will last five days, lasting from April 27 and May 5 by transferring the working day on Monday, April 29, to another date.
