Central airport to be expanded

Vinh International Airport, located in the central province of Nghe An, will be upgraded to serve approximately 8 million passengers by 2030.

Under the Ministry of Transport's approval, Vinh International Airport will be a 557-hectare, 4E-class airport with a designed capacity of 8 million passengers and 25,000 tonnes of cargo per year. It will accommodate aircraft such as the A320/A321 and equivalent and Boeing B747/B777/B787/A350 and equivalent.

Vinh International Airport 

The airport's annual capacity by 2050 is expected to reach approximately 14 million passengers and 35,000 tonnes of cargo.

The aircraft parking area will be expanded to accommodate 15 aircraft by 2030 and 29 aircraft by 2050.

By 2030, Terminal 1 will have a capacity of five million passengers yearly, and the expansion of Terminal 2 will be completed by 2050.

Vinh Internatinal Airport now has a single runway that is 2,400 metres long and 45 metres wide. It is designed to handle 2.75 million passengers annually and can accommodate 21-26 flights daily. However, due to the passenger surge, it is over capacity.
