Swallowing Hanoi metro trains goes viral

Visitors are capturing viral videos where they appear to swallow passing metro trains with just the right camera angle from the top floor of a café in Hanoi.

Social media has been buzzing with clips of young visitors waiting for the Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro to pass before opening their mouths wide, creating the illusion of swallowing the train.

According to Dantri, the trend has taken off at a rooftop café on the 5th floor of a building in O Cho Dua Ward, Dong Da District.

The café, established in 2014, has seen a surge in visitors lately thanks to its newly designed open-air terrace, providing the perfect spot to capture this trendy video.

Located in a prime position along the Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro line, the café attracts many young visitors eager to try the trend.

“A train passes by every 10 minutes, so customers don’t have to wait long to record their videos. Our staff is happy to help if they need assistance with camera angles,” said the café’s manager.

The café operates from 8 am to 11 pm, with drink prices starting at VND35,000. Window-side seats are the most popular, especially in the afternoon, as they offer the best view of the trains.

The trend previously went viral in China, especially in Chongqing, where it became a popular activity for young tourists.
