This morning, April 29, the airport served 108,000 passengers, up 25 percent from the same time last year. Of the figure, international passengers accounted for 44,000, up 18 percent on-year.
The airport has launched biometric check-in using the VNeID platform at Terminal 1 to help ease congestion at security checkpoints. Passengers can check-in, clear security, and board flights without showing physical ID documents.
Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport earlier than usual, update their VNeID app, and finish check-in procedures online to ensure a smooth journey, particularly during rush hour.
According to the Airports Corporation of Vietnam, major airports, including Tan Son Nhat, Noi Bai, Danang Phu Quoc, Cam Ranh, Phu Bai, Phu Cat, Lien Khuong, and Con Dao, are expected to handle around 2.4 million passengers between April 29 and May 4.
Airports have been instructed to ensure secure, safe operations, improve service quality, and boost co-ordination in counter-terrorism measures and aviation security.
