Hanoi police have announced traffic restrictions from 10 pm on September 1 until 1 pm on September 2 to ensure safety during the National Day parade.

Hanoi police have announced traffic restrictions on many streets to ensure safety during the National Day parade on September 2.

A number of central roads, including Hoang Hoa Tham, Thuy Khue, Mai Xuan Thuong, Quan Thanh, Phan Dinh Phung, Hung Vuong, Thanh Nien, Hoang Van Thu, Doc Lap, Dien Bien Phu, Ba Huyen Thanh Quan, Chua Mot Cot, Le Hong Phong, Ong Ich Khiem, Ngoc Ha, Bac Son, Ton That Dam, Nguyen Canh Chan, Hoang Dieu, Nguyen Tri Phuong, Chu Van An, Ton Duc Thang, Cat Linh, Trinh Hoai Duc, Hang Chao, Tran Phu and Son Tay, will be completely closed to all vehicles except those with official permits for the ceremony.

Additional restrictions will apply on major routes such as Kim Ma, Lieu Giai, Van Cao, Nghi Tam, Yen Phu, Cua Bac, Doi Can, Doc La-Pho, Nguyen Thai Hoc, Le Duan, Tran Nhan Tong, Trang Thi, Hang Khay, Trang Tien, Co Tan, Phan Chu Trinh, Le Thanh Tong, Tong Dan, Tran Quang Khai, Tran Khanh Du, Quang Trung, Ly Thai To, Nguyen Huu Huan, Ngo Quyen, Giang Vo, Lang Ha and Lang.

Residents have been advised to limit travel within the areas bounded by Ring Roads I, II and III, and to use public transport such as buses and metro services.

Police have also urged people to follow instructions from security forces, remain on pavements during the parade, avoid crowding or stepping onto the roads, and leave the area in an orderly manner after the event.

The parade marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day will take place at 6.30 am on September 2 at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi.

After passing the grandstand at Ba Dinh Square, 43 formations will continue to march through multiple streets in the city.
