According to Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Company No 1, passengers can use their ID card or scan a QR code on the HCMC Metro HURC app to board trains.
The metro will run from 5 am to 11 pm. On August 30 and 31, it will operate 251 trips per day, while on September 1 and 2 the number will rise to 264 trips daily.
To mark the 80th anniversary of National Day, Hanoi will also offer free bus and metro services from August 30 to September 2.
The Hanoi Transport Management and Operation Centre said the policy applies to 128 subsidised bus routes across the capital and two metro lines, Cat Linh to Ha Dong and Nhon to Cau Giay.
