Danang to welcome one-millionth South Korean tourist in August

Danang will host Korean Tourist Appreciation Week in early August, featuring some activities, including a ceremony to welcome its one-millionth South Korean visitor this year.

The event will be held by Danang’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism from August 1 to 8 to acknowledge the strong support and positive contributions of Korean travel businesses and tourists to the city's tourism development in recent years.

On this occasion, the city will organise six major activities, highlighted by a ceremony on the evening of August 1 at East Sea Park to welcome Danang’s one-millionth South Korean visitor of 2025. Visitors numbered 999,999; 1,000,000; 1,000,001 and seven other lucky guests will receive special gifts, including flight tickets, tours, and souvenirs.

The week will also include a famtrip on August 1-5 for 10 big South Korean travel agencies and five leading OTAs, a month-long city experience programme for Korean KOLs, the 2025 Korea-Danang Friendship Golf Tournament, and a gala night honouring Korean travel firms and airlines.

From August until the late year, the city will launch an international tourism promotion campaign targeting markets like South Korea. The programme features online lucky draws, airport raffles, and gift giveaways at hotels, attractions, and golf courses, paired with exclusive offers and souvenirs bearing the message I Love Danang.

All South Korean travellers to Danang on August 1-8 will be offered special gifts, including conical hats, lanterns, keychains, paper fans and vouchers.

According to Danang’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the event showcases the city’s renewed image following its administrative expansion.
