Vietnam to host regional women’s football titles

Vietnam has won the bid to host the Southeast Asian Women’s Football Championships 2012, which is scheduled to take place from Sept. 13-22.
According to Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the eight squads participating in the championships will be divided into two groups.

 Host country, Vietnam will meet Myanmar, Singapore and the Philippines while Thailand, Laos, Indonesia and Malaysia will compete with each other.

 Ho Chi Minh City will be the main venue of the event.

 Vietnam has become one of two countries in the Southeast Asian region, together with Thailand, to compete at the final round of the Asian Women’s U19 Tournament, which will be held from Nov. 3-17.

 The country will compete against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Uzbekistan and Jordan.

Vietnam’s U19 team is participating in the Al Nakba International Football Tournament 2012 in Palestine.
