South Korea received 347,517 Vietnamese visitors during the period, up 10 per cent from a year earlier and above the level recorded in the same period of 2019, according to the Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO) in Vietnam.
A recent study by Yanolja Research also showed continued growth in Vietnamese arrivals despite cuts to flights between the two countries.
The study attributed the increase partly to the popularity of Korean culture, with searches for related content in Vietnam recording double-digit growth.
Vietnam remains one of South Korea's key tourism markets in Southeast Asia, according to KTO.
Visitor numbers are expected to rise further during the October-November autumn foliage season.
Park Eun Jung, head of KTO in Vietnam, said flexible multiple-entry visa policies and new routes to regional airports could make travel easier for Vietnamese visitors.
South Korea is promoting five- and 10-year multiple-entry visas and seeking to improve air links between Vietnam and regional airports including Gimhae, Cheongju, Daegu, Yangyang and Jeju.
KTO said direct flights to regional destinations could shorten travel times and give Vietnamese tourists more options beyond traditional routes.
