Dantri/DTiNews Newspaper has co-operated with the People's Committee of Xin Man District and police in the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang to complete the construction of a dormitory for pupils at Quang Nguyen Boarding Primary School.
The project will benefit 290 children who stay at the school.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held on September 26, Editor-in-chief of Dantri/Dtinews, Pham Tuan Anh, said that he was very happy that the dormitory had been completed after four months of construction. He thanked the Him Lam Real Estate Business Joint Stock Company, the donor of the project, and local authorities for having supported the newspaper in carrying out the project.
"I hope that the project will help ensure the health of local students so that they can study better and contribute to the development of the country in the future," Anh said.
Anh also added that this was the 73rd of 75 projects that the newspaper has carried out nationwide, and the fourth built in Ha Giang Province so far.
Attending the ceremony, the Communications Director of the Him Lam Real Estate Business Joint Stock Company, Nguyen Huy Thiem, said he was very happy that local students are going to have a better dormitory at school.
"From now they no longer have to bear the chilly winter weather or the blazing hot summer nights," Thiem said. "We want to send our thanks to Dantri/Dtinews Newspaper and local authorities for connecting us with the school so that we can send our support to provide better living conditions for the students."
At the ceremony, the Ha Giang Provincial People's Committee gave certificates of merits to Dantri Newspaper and Editor-in-Chief Pham Tuan Anh for their contributions to the province.
Chairman of the Quang Nguyen Commune People's Committee, Nguyen Xuan Truong, sent their biggest thanks to Dantri and kind donors for supporting them in building a better dormitory for local children.
On the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, Editor-in-chief of Dantri/Dtinews, Pham Tuan Anh, gave 1,000 moon cakes to students at the school. Local students also received storybooks, lights, and TV from various donors at the ceremony.
