The announcement was made by the French Embassy in early September, recognizing Le Van Cong’s remarkable achievements and his inspiring journey as a Paralympic athlete, which continues to motivate young people across Vietnam.
Le Van Cong, an elite athlete with disabilities from Ho Chi Minh City, was named Vietnam’s top disabled athlete in 2024. At the Paris 2024 Paralympics, he claimed a bronze medal in the men’s up to 49kg category.
He previously won gold at the 2016 Paralympics and silver at the 2020 Paralympics, cementing his status as one of Vietnam’s most decorated Paralympic athletes.
