Captured by Indian photographer Dipanjan Pal during his visit to Vietnam, the photo shows workers collecting sedge grass-a key material used in traditional Vietnamese mats. According to Forbes magazine, the workers appear as though “gliding across a soft, verdant carpet.”
The contest welcomed submissions from both professional and amateur photographers worldwide, showcasing awe-inspiring and rarely seen aerial perspectives of nature. The award was launched following the 10-year success of the International Landscape Photographer of the Year competition, initiated by American photographers Peter Eastway and David Evans.
Forbes reported that after a decade of celebrating landscape photography, the organizers noticed a growing number of breathtaking aerial entries and decided to establish a dedicated platform for this art form.
This year’s contest received more than 1,500 submissions from around the world, featuring everything from wild animals and pristine nature to fairytale-like hills and surreal vistas.
To be selected among the Top 101 images and published in the contest’s official book, participants needed to earn a minimum score of 86.67 from a panel of expert judges.
