The annual Hung Kings Commemoration Day falls on April 26, with a three-day public holiday from April 25 to April 27.
Nearly a week before the main event, accommodation in Viet Tri and within a 5km radius of Hung Temple has already been fully booked, according to local businesses.
A resident from Hanoi said she contacted multiple hotels in Viet Tri on April 19 but was unable to secure a room, as bookings had been made several days in advance.
A quick survey found that mid range hotels in the city centre are operating at more than 90 per cent occupancy, while most hotels and guesthouses near the temple are fully booked for peak days.

Hotel owners said accommodation in Viet Tri and surrounding areas is expected to remain fully occupied on the night of April 25, the eve of the main festival.
Even three-star hotels lying about 5km from the temple, have reported no availability on April 25 and April 26, with limited rooms remaining only on April 27.
Higher end hotels such as Muong Thanh Luxury have also sold out for peak dates, while homestays within a 20km radius are seeing a surge in demand.
According to the Phu Tho Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, more than 25 events will be held during the festival. A highlight will be a high altitude fireworks display at Van Lang Park pedestrian bridge in Viet Tri on the evening of April 25, which has further driven demand for nearby accommodation.
Nguyen Thuy Linh said the festival is expected to welcome between six million and seven million visitors, about 20 per cent higher than last year.

Phu Tho currently has 1,520 accommodation facilities with more than 20,000 rooms, including nine hotels rated four to five stars, but capacity is under significant pressure during the peak festival period.
