The festival scheduled on September 11-20 will be held at key heritage venues including the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the Temple of Literature, Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, Hanoi Museum and Bat Trang ceramic village.
Organisers said the event was designed to bring heritage closer to the public through interactive cultural experiences and contemporary artistic expression.
The opening ceremony on September 11 at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel will launch a series of performances combining traditional cultural elements with modern staging technology, recreating the cultural flow of Thang Long in a contemporary setting.

Festival activities will include contemporary music performances, international artistic exchanges, the Colours of Hanoi fashion show and the Sounds of Ceramics programme in Bat Trang Village.
A series of exhibitions and heritage experience spaces will also run throughout the festival at the Temple of Literature and Hanoi Museum, allowing visitors to engage with heritage through immersive and interactive formats.
One of the festival’s highlights will be the Thang Long Royal Feast, scheduled for October 10, featuring traditional cuisine alongside artistic performances.
The festival is expected to close on September 20 at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square.
Organisers said the event aimed not only to honour Thang Long’s cultural heritage but also to strengthen Hanoi’s position as a regional creative hub where heritage serves as a driver of sustainable development.
