The event was part of the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival 2026, which is being held on the largest scale since it was first organised.
This year’s festival features 17 main activities along with numerous supporting events across Ho Chi Minh City.

At Nguyen Hue Walking Street, thousands of participants created a colorful scene as they performed folk dance routines while wearing vibrant traditional ao dai, attracting large crowds of residents and tourists.

A highlight of this year’s festival is the biggest mass performance and parade ever held, with more than 50,000 people registering to participate at various locations throughout the city.

According to the city’s Department of Tourism, expanding the festival’s scale aims not only to promote Vietnamese culture and showcase the friendly image of Ho Chi Minh City, but also to stimulate tourism and attract investment.

After 12 years of organisation, the Ao Dai Festival has gradually become a signature cultural event that helps position Ho Chi Minh City as a creative and culturally vibrant destination.

The festival runs throughout March at several notable venues, including Nguyen Hue Walking Street, the President Ho Chi Minh Statue Park, stations along Ho Chi Minh City Metro Line 1, and various historical sites.
