Representatives of Dantri in the Mekong Delta presented on February 26 a symbolic cheque worth VND 120.6 million (about USD 4,900) to the family of Tran Tuyet Anh, 33, from Luong Tam Commune, Can Tho. The full amount has been transferred to her account.

Expressing her gratitude, Tuyet Anh thanked readers and benefactors for their compassion and timely support.
She said the donation would allow the family to continue treatment for her son, Dao Thanh The Son, 3, who was diagnosed with testicular cancer at the age of one.
On March 5, she and her son are scheduled to travel to Ho Chi Minh City for another round of chemotherapy. “I hope my child will recover soon and grow up healthy like other children,” she said.
Tuyet Anh added that previous support from Dantri readers had also helped her elder son, Dao Thanh Phuoc Vinh, 13, receive timely treatment for a fractured kneecap. Though he still uses a wheelchair, Vinh is gradually recovering and regaining his cheerfulness.

As previously reported by Dantri, the family has faced severe hardship. Vinh was born with flat feet syndrome and congenital deafness, while little Son developed cancer at a very young age.
Last year, Tuyet Anh underwent thyroid cancer surgery and remains in poor health, unable to work. The burden of medical expenses has therefore fallen on her husband, Dao Thanh Che Linh, 36.
To cover hospital fees, Linh has taken on any job he can find, from ride-hailing driving to collecting scrap. Despite the physical strain, he has never refused work, though the mounting pressure has led him to develop depression.
