The naval vessels arrived on the islands on January 10 after a 16-day trip.
The delegation will visit, give presents and extend Lunar New Year (Tet) greetings to officers, soldiers and residents stationed on the islands.
Among the carefully packed items were traditional Chung cakes (square sticky rice cakes), sweets, and essential supplies.
Tet decorative plants, kumquat trees and peach blossom branches were also brought to the islands.
Colonel Ngo Dinh Xuyen, Deputy Commander of Naval Region 4, expressed his hope that the delegation, including officials, soldiers, and journalists, would bring the love and warm Tet atmosphere from the mainland to the islanders.
On January 1, two ships carrying a mainland delegation and more than 1,000 packages of Tet gifts left Vung Tau City for a voyage to DK1 platforms, duty ships, and radar stations in the Spratly Islands.
