Dantri/DTiNews helps to build more houses for the poor

Dantri/DTiNews Newspaper held a groundbreaking ceremony to build 10 houses for disadvantaged families in the northern mountainous province of Cao Bang.

The houses cost a total investment of VND981.46 million (USD38,716) donated by the newspaper's readers.

The houses are in Dan Chu, Truong Luong, and Quang Trung communes of Hoa An District.

Nguyen Xuan Toan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Dantri/DTiNews; Hoang Thi My Hao, Director of Cao Bang's Department of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs; and representatives from various local agencies attended the event.

On behalf of Dantri/DTiNews, Toan expressed his sincere gratitude to readers for supporting the newspaper's housing programme for people experiencing poverty and its other charitable activities.

According to Toan, the newspaper has built 88 houses for disadvantaged people nationwide and aims to complete the 100th house by July 15 to celebrate Dantri's 20th anniversary.

Luan Chien Cong, Chairman of Hoa An District, stated that the district is home to thousands of poor and near-poor households. The new houses are invaluable gifts for these families.

On this occasion, Dan Tri/DTiNews presented 10 gift sets, including an electric kettle, two blankets, and 20 boxes of vitamins, to the families receiving the new houses.

Dan Tri/DTiNews presented 10 gift sets to people in Hoa An District

The newspaper also provided 20 gift sets worth VND500,000 to 20 other disadvantaged households in Hoa An District.

Hoang Thi My Hao, Director of Cao Bang's Department of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs, awarded VND1 million scholarships to 10 children in Hoa An.

Trieu Van Chin from Na Thum Hamlet shared that he had lived in his old house for 30 years. It leaked when it rained, and the wind often buffeted the walls, making life extremely difficult. He was overjoyed to have a new home.
