A representative from Dantri visits Hon's parents at their home in Le Thuy and sends them VND5 million on October 30.
On October 30, a representative from Dantri visited Hon's parents at their home in Le Thuy and sent them VND5 million.
Receiving the support, Hon's father, Le Van He, 51, sent his sincere thanks to the Editor-in-Chief of Dantri and the newspaper's readers for their valuable help.
"Your visit and support have comforted us on our great loss," the father said. "Thank you so much."
The father said his 22-year-old son was the eldest of his three children. He worked as a driver and would join local young people during his free time on social and charitable work.
Quang Binh authorities said they would present Le Ngoc Hon with a certificate of merit in recognition of his devotion to helping people.
Le Ngoc Hon was swept away by floodwaters on the afternoon of October 27 while wading into a submerged area to assist residents.
His body was found the next morning, approximately 200 metres from the spot where he went missing.
Many areas in Quang Binh are flooded.
At least five people died, and over 32,000 houses were deeply submerged by severe floods triggered by Storm Trami in Quang Binh.
