VNR expects the two trains to provide passengers with unique experiences during the Lunar New Year’s Eve celebrations.
The SE1 and SE4 services will operate overnight on January 28, 2025 (December 29, 2024, according to the lunar calendar) and feature Tet-themed decorations, cultural and entertainment activities, and onboard celebrations.
Train SE1 departs Hanoi Station at 10.10 pm, while the SE4 train departs Saigon Station at 7.30 pm. Both trains head toward Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, respectively.
Each train will feature a specially designed Community Carriage decorated with Tet-themed peach and apricot blossoms and artwork reflecting traditional Tet cultural activities such as flower markets and calligraphy writing.
Many cultural and entertainment activities and celebrations are also held in this Community Carriage throughout the journey.
At midnight, passengers can join a countdown celebration with a sweet buffet, participate in a lucky draw, enjoy traditional Tet dishes, and play folk games.
A journey highlight is a mobile art camp where passengers can collaborate with artists across Vietnam. Activities include portrait sketching, clay sculpting, and painting sessions, offering a creative start to the new year.
Before boarding, passengers can visit a special art exhibition on the second floor of Hanoi Station, featuring works by 40 Vietnamese artists. In addition, on the second day of Tet, a workshop will be held at Saigon Station, where passengers can participate in interactive painting activities.
