A dog is walked around the Hoan Kiem Lake

Under a newly-issued decision which took effect from May 27 by Hoan Kiem District People's Committee, people are not allowed to walk their pets in the local pedestrian area. Vendors are also banned as is fishing in Hoan Kiem Lake. People are also prohibited from using speakers, radios and musical instruments without permission from local authorities on pedestrian streets around Hoan Kiem Lake.

However, many people continue to walk their dogs during the first days after the decision took effect.


People continued to play music without permission at the site.

Pedestrian streets around Hoan Kiem Lake have been reopened since March 18 following a long suspension due to Covid-19. The pedestrian area is open from 7 pm on Friday until late Sunday every week.
