Police broke up a women-trafficking ring from Vietnam to brothels in Singapore on February 9.

Police broke up a women-trafficking ring from Vietnam to brothels in Singapore on February 9.

Police from from Tay Ninh Province in coordination with border gate police at Tan Son Nhat International Airport cracked the case.

The criminal group included Tran Thi Kim Ngan, 19, from Tay Ninh; Ly Thanh Mong, 25, from Vinh Long and Do Van Thanh Nhut, 21, from Ho Chi Minh City. They were caught during processing procedures trying to get the 9 women out of the country at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

There were an additional 2 accomplices including Vo Thi Hiep, 46, from An Giang and Tran Thi Kim Ngoc, 19, from Tay Ninh.

Initial investigations revealed that these traffickers often went to Cuu Long river delta provinces, Tay Ninh and Binh Duong to select good-looking girls from 20 to 30 years old.

Ngan and Nhut cheated innocent girls, promising that they would help them to have a very good job in Singapore, but they were instead trafficked to brothels.

All suspects confessed to police. Currently, police are continuing their investigation in collaboration with relevant bodies to discover and rescue other victims.
