Andrew Naylor, head of ASEAN and Public Policy of the World Gold Council, attributed Vietnam’s higher gold demand to people’s worry about rising inflation and the weakening Vietnamese Dong.

The World Gold Council added that the global demand for gold was 2,189 tonnes, up 12 percent against the same period of last year.
