Vietnam has confirmed one more Covid-19 death who is a 38-year-old woman in the northern province of Bac Giang.
Patient 4807 who was treated at Bac Giang General Hospital died of respiratory complications due to Covid-19.
Following a fever, cough and sore throat, she tested positive for Covid-19 and was taken to Yen Dung District’s Medical Centre for the treatment on May 17. However, her condition later worsened, so she was brought to Bac Giang Provincial General Hospital on May 22.
On Sunday, she faced serious breathing difficulties. Examinations showed that she suffered from severe lung damage. On the same days, doctors in Bac Giang had a consultation with those from Bach Mai Hospital and the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases. The more intensive treatment was given to her, but her condition was too critical to be dealt with.
She died at around 4:30 pm today, May 24, becoming Vietnam’s 44th Covid-19 death.
The woman was a worker of Hosiden Vietnam Ltd. Co. at Quang Chau Industrial Park in Viet Yen District which has been closed due to the recent virus outbreak.
By late Monday, Bac Giang Province had recorded a total of 1,024 Covid-19 cases in less then a month and is now the country's biggest epicenter.
