Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long speaks at the meeting

Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long said as more vaccines arrive, they will set up about 19,000 immunisation points across the country. The private health sector may also be asked for help in the last months of 2021. He emphasised safety during vaccination.

"We will simplify the administrative procedures but other medical procedures like screenings must still be done carefully. It's better to set up a list of people that should report to a hospital or to the mobile immunisation unit for shots," he said. "All processes must be closely coordinated from distribution, implementation, and advertising for the campaign. Moreover, we must not waste the vaccines."

This time, the immunisation programme will be largely operated online. Information about the number of vaccinated people and the vaccine storage temperature is closely monitored.

Dang Quang Tan, head of the Preventive Medicines Department, said they have prepared eight cold and ultra-cold storage facilities to store the vaccines, especially Pfizer vaccines which must be stored at minus 70-80 degrees.
