Vietnam confirms additional 2,787 Covid-19 cases on Wednesday morning

Vietnam has recorded 2,787 new Covid-19 patients in the last 12 hours as of 6 am on Wednesday, including 12 from abroad, the Ministry of Health reported.

Among 2,775 locally-infected cases in 23 localities, HCM City accounted for 1,739, followed by Binh Duong (657), Dong Nai (85), Tien Giang (65), Vinh Long (39), Khanh Hoa (38), Ben Tre (35), Ba Ria - Vung Tau (18), Can Tho (16), Dak Lak (13), Kien Giang (12), Binh Phuoc (12), Hau Giang (9), Long An (8 ), Ha Giang (6), Phu Yen (5), Dak Nong (4), Ha Noi (4), Quang Ngai (3), Binh Dinh (2), Nghe An (2), Lam Dong (2), Gia Lai (1). 

According to the Ministry of Health, 393 cases are still under epidemic investigations.

As of 6 am on Wednesday, Vietnam logged a total of 65,607 Covid-19 cases, including 63,510 locally-infected patients. Since April 27, the country has detected 61,940 local infections.

Yen Bai, Quang Tri, Tuyen Quang, Son La, Thai Nguyen, Dien Bien, Hai Duong, Phu Tho, Quang Ninh, Hoa Binh and Bac Kan have gone through 14 days without any new local infections.

Around 11,443 patients have been discharged from hospital, meanwhile, 18 others are using the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) method due to critical conditions.

Vietnam has administered over 4.33 million Covid-19 vaccine shots, with 317,672 people having received two doses.

On Tuesday, the Ministry of Health inspected the oxygen supply of Messer Vietnam Industrial Gases in Binh Duong Province. Amid the on-going Covid-19 spread, the company will double its oxygen capacity to around 1,000 cylinders per day for medical facilities.

Thu Duc City’s Health Centre has instructed local residents to take their samples for Covid-19 testing.

Dong Nai Province has issued a plan on piloting the home-quarantine for F1 cases in Bien Hoa, Long Khanh, Vinh Cuu and Trang Bom.
