Vietnam coast guard rescues six Chinese fishermen

Six Chinese seamen have been rescued by the Vietnam Coast Guard Command after their ship foundered and drifted into Vietnamese waters.

The fishermen were working in the East Sea on December 23 when the engine of their boat failed  and they drifted into Vietnam's territorial waters.

The boat was taken under tow to Nha Trang Port

The Coast Guard Command responded to their radio "mayday" signal and boat CSB9002 was dispatched to rescue them, locating the stricken crew some 28 nautical miles north east of Van Phong Bay in Khanh Hoa Province.

The boat was taken under tow to Nha Trang Port.
