According to Vietnam Airlines, flight VN7569, departing Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi for Cam Ranh Airport in Khanh Hoa Province at 8.35 pm on June 29, was forced to divert about 30 minutes after takeoff when a 37-year-old male passenger exhibited concerning health symptoms.
The cabin crew issued a call for medical assistance from qualified passengers and administered first aid, including providing the passenger with oxygen.
As the passenger’s condition showed no signs of improvement, the captain decided to make an emergency landing at Danang International Airport and alerted ground staff to arrange immediate medical assistance.
The aircraft landed safely, and the passenger was transferred to a local medical facility for further monitoring and treatment.
By 11 pm on June 29, flight VN7569 resumed its journey to Cam Ranh
This was one of many instances in which Vietnam Airlines adjusted its flight schedule to assist passengers in need of medical attention.
Flight VN158 from Danang to Hanoi made an unscheduled landing at Phu Bai Airport in Hue City on June 16 to provide emergency medical care for a female passenger.
Flight VN35 from Hanoi to Frankfurt, Germany, on May 5, was also forced to make an emergency landing at Erzurum Airport in Turkey due to a medical emergency.
