The project, developed by the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), includes more than VND 1.3 trillion already invested and nearly VND 10 trillion earmarked for the expansion.

The project covers more than 165,000 square metres, including about 122,800 square metres of the existing terminal and an additional 42,000 square metres to be handed over for expansion.
The upgraded terminal will add around 96,000 square metres of floor space to accommodate both domestic and international passenger operations.
The project also includes supporting infrastructure, including an elevated access road, a multi-storey car park and utility systems.
Once completed, Terminal 1 will have an annual capacity of 14 million passengers, helping meet growing travel demand and improve operational efficiency at Danang International Airport.
The 41-month project is scheduled to begin in August 2027, with the expanded terminal opening in January 2029 and the renovation of the existing terminal completed by August 2029.
