US still biased about religious freedom in Vietnam

The international religious freedom report for 2015, issued by the US Department of State, continued to include some biased comments and wrong quotations on religious situation in Vietnam.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Le Hai Binh made the statement on Friday in response to reporters’ question on Vietnam’s reaction to the report.

Vietnam consistently pursues the policy of respecting and ensuring rights to freedom of religion and belief of its citizens as clearly stipulated in the Constitution and laws, Mr. Binh affirmed.

The country’s laws strictly ban discrimination against citizens for religious and belief reasons, he added.

Thanks to the deployment of various specific policies and measures, the religious and belief life is rich in Vietnam.
