According to the Ha Quang District Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue, the incident occurred on August 23 when Vi Van Thanh, 58, and Duong Van Thong, 30, tried to take their bike through a flooded road. They both were swept away with their motorcycle.
"Rescue forces have been mobilised to search for the two men over the past three days, but there have been no results," the committee said. "The area has continued to face heavy rain, and flooded water levels have risen sharply."
On August 26, Hoang Van Thach, vice chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee, arrived to inspect the rescue work and direct local people to take preventive measures amid the rising flood.
Cao Bang is experiencing the most severe flooding in the past 20 years.
