According to VNR, from January 30 to February 2, 2021, the firm will use 10 pairs of trains on the north-south route.
A train on the north-south route
VNR will provide additional dozens of pairs of trains on different railway sections. For instance, nine pairs will be used for sections from Saigon to Vinh, Dong Hoi, Quy Nhon, Danang, Nha Trang and Phan Thiet cities.
Meanwhile, in the northern region, VNR will consider increasing more trains on the Hanoi-Vinh, Hanoi-Dong Hoi, Hanoi-Lao Cai and Hanoi-Danang sections.
VNR will start selling tickets for Tet train routes for individuals and organisations from October 1. Each passenger is not allowed to buy more than eight tickets.
VNR also offers a discount of 5-20% for train tickets for Lunar New Year.
The discount rate is up to 10-30 for students. Children, the disabled and some other groups also enjoy lower ticket prices.
