According to the ministry's preliminary investigation, between 2020 and April 2026, the group led by Khoa, Anh, Xuan and Thanh created more than 100 websites to distribute pirated films online.

Investigators allege the websites hosted more than 26,000 films that had been copied and uploaded without permission from copyright holders or owners of related rights.

The websites attracted a substantial global audience, with the group allegedly earning illicit profits of approximately 12.85 million USDT through online advertising placed on the piracy platforms.

The Ministry of Public Security said the investigation had identified the operation as a large-scale transnational cybercrime network involving multiple locations across Vietnam, including Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
