The campaign, carried out from May to late June, also targeted pedicabs.
Authorities registered 651 pedicabs and homemade three-wheeled vehicles, while more than 140 owners voluntarily removed electric motors to restore their vehicles to legal specifications after awareness campaigns involving more than 1,200 drivers and union members.

Police issued 226 penalties to pedicab operators, mainly for illegal parking and entering prohibited roads. More than 90 per cent of operators complied with regulations requiring pedal-powered pedicabs, and no traffic accidents involving the vehicles were reported during the campaign.
Inspecting more than 720 foreign drivers, police fined 210 for offences including riding without helmets, driving without valid licences, travelling against traffic and allowing unqualified people to operate vehicles. The fines totalled more than VND 610 million (about USD 23,200).
Le Quang Dung, deputy director of Khanh Hoa Police, instructed to continue strengthening enforcement and improve management of traffic and urban order to maintain Nha Trang's image as a safe and tourist-friendly destination.
