Tourist killed by electric shuttle in Quy Nhon

Authorities in Gia Lai Province are investigating an accident involving an electric tourist shuttle that struck a group of pedestrians, leaving one person dead and three others injured.

On August 2, a doctor from Gia Lai General Hospital confirmed that three victims from the accident had been admitted for emergency treatment following the crash, which occurred near Nguyen Tat Thanh Square in Quy Nhon Ward.

"One of the victims was pronounced dead before arriving at the hospital. Two others, including a seriously injured patient, are currently receiving treatment in the neurosurgical intensive care unit," the doctor said.

The incident took place at approximately 7.10pm on August 1, when the electric vehicle collided with a group of tourists crossing the street.

The impact left three people injured. A 69-year-old woman died en route to the hospital. A 60-year-old woman and an 8-year-old child remain in hospital with injuries.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause of the accident.
